I decided that it was time to fish or cut bait with this fellow. I knew what needed to be done, but had been putting it off. One arm and both legs were too short, so I knew it was time to either put him back on the shelf, or cut off those limbs and re-sculpt them. Well....
...you can see that I decided to try and get this guy correct. So the short arm came off, and both legs above the knee. I've also spent some time bulking out the back - his torso was too narrow from the side. You can see the start of a new larger and more muscular back here, though it's still very much in progress:
I'm also trying to make the front and side a little better by narrowing the rectus abdominis and filling in the obliques, and also by adding a hint of of the serratus and intercostals. Here is the side view, again, still very much in-progress:
It was somewhat intimidating to do, but I feel better for having worked up the courage to do it. It's not easy to throw away work, even when you know it needs to be done.
