I have gone back to the drawing board started to completely rewrite the second part of this article. I came to the conclusion while writing it that the data available in books and other resources about human proportions for artists are simply too contradictory to be reliable. As a result, I've decided to track down some good anthropometric data and do some analytics on the data. I do not wish to add any more confusion to an already confusing subject, so I am going to use the measurements of real people and see how they stack up to the various canons of proportion.
I apologize for the delay in getting the second part of the article up, but I want to be sure what I'm saying is right.
